TICKETING FIELD NOTE

How to Review a Failed Ticketing Attempt

Find the stage that changed instead of describing the whole attempt as slow.

Calling an attempt ‘slow’ does not tell you what to practice next. The delay usually belongs to one stage: opening click, seat decision, CAPTCHA input or navigation. Separate the attempt into stages before changing your routine.

Compare like with like. Do not combine desktop and mobile results, one-ticket and two-ticket attempts, or easy and high-demand seat conditions in one average. Use the latest five attempts with the same device and setup.

The longest stage is not automatically the problem. Seat selection naturally takes longer than one click. Look for the largest change from your normal result. If seat selection rises from 2.9 to 4.8 seconds while CAPTCHA remains stable, the seat stage deserves attention.

Write a cause that suggests an action. ‘Failed at seats’ is vague; ‘stayed in the first-choice section for over three seconds’ or ‘changed ticket quantity after selecting’ tells you what to adjust.

Change one variable at a time. If seat judgment was slow, simplify the section priority without also changing mouse sensitivity and zoom. Run three short attempts under the same conditions to see whether the improvement remains.

Practice checklist

  • Compare the same device and settings
  • Look at change from your normal stage time
  • Write one specific cause
  • Change one variable and retest

Frequently asked questions

Should I delete failed records?

Keep genuine mistakes because they reveal patterns. Exclude only records caused by a test interruption or technical error that makes comparison meaningless.

Should I fix the longest stage first?

Not necessarily. Fix the stage that changed most from its own recent average.
